Multiple sclerosis is a neurological disease which gradually and often through attacks causes invalidity and dementia. The first symptoms are often seen in people between the age of 20-40.

It is not known for certain but 25% to 50% of all sclerosis patients will probably sooner or later develop depression, and approximately just as many will develop an elevated mood and can seem inappropriately hyped-up.
